NEXT YEAR'S Outing
So, now that we know that Disney is scrapping Pleasure Island for something more family friendly (Boo, hiss!!!), let's get some ideas going here for where to go and what to do this coming May. PLEASE POST your ideas and links to places you might like to go... Here's one to consider... Sanibel Harbor Resort and Spa http://www.sanibel-resort.com/. There are not that many places to go out down there, but the spa is supposed to be awesome... it's just outside of Ft. Myers. Ladies, we have been terrible bloggers, so let's get to it.

Not Your Typical Summer Reading List
Dear Ladies,
Since there hasn't been a post lately I just wanted to give you all some suggested reading for this summer. Now, let me preface this by saying that these are not any Harlequin romance novels... I don't read much of that stuff, but if anyone has any 'chick lit' suggestions I would love to hear them. Here are three books that will make you think and give you great conversation starters at parties. Enjoy!!!!
The Number by Lee Eisenberg
This is a great book about retirement planning... a dry subject, I know, but a really useful take on what you should be thinking about no matter what stage of life you are in...
Nation of Wimps by Hara Estroff Marano
I am just finishing this one up right now and I have to say that I would make this book required reading for all Moms and Dads in the U.S. of A. if I could. It details the (very recent and profound) psychological changes that have occurred in children and young adults who have never had to do anything for themselves because their 'mommies' and 'daddies' do everything for them... scary indeed!!!!
Last Child in the Woods by Ricard Louv
OK, so I haven't read this yet, but I have heard so many great things about it and it won the 2008 Audubon Medal... I just know that the childhood that my kids are experiencing is vastly different than mine (we explored the undeveloped land behind our neighborhood and got chased by wild boar, stayed out until dark and pretty much did whatever we wanted). This book is bound to shed some light on how these changes will play out in our children's future.

That's A Frickin' Big Shot!
The movie was great except the screen went blank right at the wedding dress scene and we missed a few minutes of what was probably a good part. Oh, well.
I had a cosmo with one big side of 'cliche' beforehand -- but it still tasted good. We also had some tapas and one of Michelle's friends and her husband joined us! Too funny. Hope you girls in Clermont get together and go! XXXOOO ASB

A BOHO LOGO!
Ladies,
Take a look at the awesome logo Lisa Swift painted on this basket! It was part of a housewarming gift she gave to me this past weekend when she came to our pool party! IT IS AWESOME! Lisa wants to refine it a bit, but I think we're definitely close to having a logo we can put on this blog and some t-shirts and other stuff for next year's gathering! Thanks, Lisa! You Rock!!!!

Two Bohos & Two BoHEs in California
Hi Ladies! Cindi and Kevin and Jason and I just spent a fun five days in California for a business/slash/pleasure trip! We had a great time...started out in Sacramento visiting friends who are also contractors (roofing) where it was 100 degrees and then moved on Saturday night to San Francisco, where it was overcast and freezing!!!! (Actually 50s, but it was windy and felt freezing to us Floridians!). Here are a couple of shots of us. As you may suspect, we had a lot of adventures including being pooped on by one of those huge gulls (ME) and other craziness including (but not limited to) tubing on Lake Fremont, victims of road rage, shopping in Chinatown, riding on a cable car, visiting Alcatraz, eating c-r-a-b and drinking heavily (ME)... not a good combination... to the point that I can only spell the word, I can't even say it still; and much more. I'll post some pictures of our kids soon! You're right Helen! We need to get on it! ASB

Recovery - Day 4
OK... I'm finally catching up on my sleep... 9 1/2 hours last night... wow, that felt great! I've been asked to post BOHO Michelle Young's company information for all of you to take a look at, many of you know that Michelle and her sister Melissa have created a children's line of organic clothing... take a look at http://www.obliorganics.com/. The spring line which features some adorable new designs for both girls and boys will be out shortly... these tees and onesies make great baby shower gifts and little one's b-day gifts!
I have also added a link to this site on the left column of our BOHO site here, for future reference.
Hugs & Kisses to all!

How To Guide for This Blog & The Baby Birdie
Ladies,
I am just learning all of this friggin' blogging stuff myself, so feel free to call me or e-mail me with your questions. Each of you should have received an invitation to join the blog... you need to register on the link that was sent in that e-mail from Blogger.com.
Also, please be advised, there is a comment attached to Patty's post below that is from someone (NOT ONE OF US) with a link in it! Do not use it! It's spam. I just went in and turned off the permissions so only BOHOs can post COMMENTS from now on!
Love you guys,
Alisa
By the way, I forgot to post a pic of the baby bird Michelle and I saved that was outside our door at Saratoga on Sunday afternoon. He was picked up by a guy named Jim who told me he was going to live at Animal Kingdom. See, I was mothering something this past weekend!!! XXXOOO
Bohos weekend 2008
Here's the few pix I got before battery died. Cindi, email me pix from your camera. thx.
p.s. Helen & Cindi called in to work & slept all day on Monday. Christine napped with her kids for about 3 hours or so till Hubby woke her up for dinner. I slept from bout 1-4 and slept in today - still recovering.... It was all worth it though. Thanks everyone for such a great time!!

Recovery - Day 2
I had to spend all day yesterday explaining to everyone I spoke with why I had no voice. Got great comments about how wild moms get when they're away from their families. Oh, if they only knew.

Recovery - Day 1
OK... so I'm back at my desk at work. I have no voice and I keep laughing to myself. Here are a few random things that have popped into my mind from this past weekend....
1. Just stick a piece of medical tape on your A**hole
2. Don't worry, that's just a phone in my pocket
3. YEAH, BABY!
4. (GUHHGHERUHH) Puking sounds
5. The annual Outdoor Urination Event(s)
Ladies, welcome to your BOHO home page! This will be a great place for us to share what's going on in our lives and plan for our next adventure together. I've upload a few photos here for your enjoyment - (Sorry, Cindi, I forgot to rotate you!). Please add your posts and your photos.
Thank you all for a terrific weekend. BOHOs FOREVER!
With love,
Alisa
